MCTMC E-Sport Arena Championship – Terms & Conditions
- Participation
Participants acknowledge they are voluntarily taking part in a physical sporting event involving swimming, cycling, running, treadmills and exercise equipment. Participation is at the entrant's own risk. - Age Requirement
Participants must be 12 years or older on race day. Participants under 18 years require parent or guardian consent. Entry confirms the participant is medically fit to compete. - Health & Medical Responsibility
Participants are responsible for ensuring they are medically fit and physically capable of safely completing the event. Anyone suffering from illness, injury, dizziness, chest pain or other conditions that may create risk should not participate. - Assumption of Risk
Participants acknowledge the risks associated with sport and exercise, including falls, fatigue, dehydration, equipment failure, muscle strain, treadmill incidents and swimming incidents.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mid Canterbury Triathlon and Multisport Club Limited, organisers, volunteers, sponsors, officials, venue providers and associated parties accept no liability for injury, illness, loss, damage or theft arising from participation.
- Equipment
Participants are responsible for providing and safely using their own equipment and personal items. Organisers may refuse any equipment deemed unsafe. - Technology
The event will utilise Stages Bikes and Zwift. While organisers will take all reasonable steps to ensure smooth operation, technical issues, internet interruptions, software failures and connectivity problems may occur. - Technical Difficulties
As the first event of its kind for our club, participants acknowledge that delays, operational adjustments or minor technical issues may occur. Organisers appreciate participants' patience and flexibility. - Bike Cut-Off
Participants must complete the bike leg within the allocated cut-off time. Athletes who do not meet the cut-off may continue the event but will not receive an official finishing time and will not be eligible for placings or prizes. - Treadmill Safety
Participants must use treadmills responsibly, follow instructions from organisers and venue staff, and stop immediately if feeling unwell or unsafe. Organisers may withdraw participants where safety concerns exist. - Rules & Conduct
Participants must follow all instructions from organisers, officials, volunteers, lifeguards and venue staff.
Participants are expected to demonstrate good sportsmanship, respect fellow competitors, support volunteers and contribute to a positive event environment.
Unsafe, abusive or disruptive behaviour may result in disqualification or removal from the event.
- Photography & Media
Participants acknowledge that photographs and video may be taken during the event and used by Mid Canterbury Triathlon and Multisport Club Limited for promotional, marketing, social media and website purposes. - Event Format
The event may operate in heats or waves. Organisers may alter categories, start times, schedules or heat allocations as required. - Prize Eligibility
Participants must complete all event components in accordance with event rules to be eligible for placings and prizes. - Entries, Transfers & Refunds
Entries are non-refundable.
Entry transfers may be permitted prior to the event at the discretion of organisers.
A waitlist may be established if the event reaches capacity. Organisers may assist with transfers but cannot guarantee placement.
If the event is cancelled by organisers, participants may be offered a partial refund, entry credit or transfer to a future event.
- Event Changes
Organisers reserve the right to alter the event format, distances, schedule, heats or timing due to safety, venue, technical, operational or unforeseen circumstances. - Personal Responsibility
Participants are encouraged to race within their own abilities. The event is intended to be welcoming and inclusive for both first-time and experienced athletes. - Waiver
By entering the event, participants confirm they have read and accepted these Terms & Conditions, understand the risks associated with participation, and agree to follow all event rules and directions.
For participants under 18 years, a parent or guardian accepts these Terms & Conditions on their behalf.
